Teacher Tree for Poe, in
honor of Miss Yolanda Pierre
Yolanda Pierre spent her entire 36 year teaching career at Poe
Elementary – 20 years of first grade and 16 years of kindergarten
before retiring in May 2011. We have begun to organize a tribute to
her remarkable career achievements and lasting legacy at Poe.
In honor of Yolanda Pierre’s 36 years of teaching at Poe Elementary,
we are raising money for a Teacher Tree to be planted in front of the
school, taking the place of the large tree we lost a couple of years
ago.
The Teacher Tree will honor all of the great teachers at
Poe and will be dedicated with a plaque honoring Miss Pierre. We will
plant an 8” diameter live oak tree in early November and add bench
seating around the tree area.
Levels of sponsorship:
Grass Roots
Supporter (<$50) = Name listed in Memory Book and on Poe PTO website
Sunshine Sponsor ($50) = Above +photo of Miss Pierre
Leaf Lover
($100+) = Above + one name on tree plaque leaf (~80 total leaves
available)
Rainmaker ($500 or $1000) = Above + name(s) on tree
plaque stone or trunk (~4-6 available)
